Our History
Started in 1974 by three brothers who organized contract weaving for U.S. importers and wholesalers, Prasad Carpet is a fourth-generation family run handmade rug and carpet manufacturing company located in Bhadohi, India.
During the late 1980’s, Prasad Carpet became a major supplier of high-quality handmade rugs to American wholesalers, and soon after that started expanding into the European market. During the early 1990’s, we created our own R&D facility to experiment with manmade fibers and established an in-house digital design team in Bhadohi.
In 2010, we acquired one of India’s oldest handmade rug manufacturing companies, E. Hill and Company Ltd. This historic company located between Mirzapur and Bhadohi created the opportunity to work with large American chain stores such as Restoration Hardware and Crate and Barrel.
Today, Prasad Carpet International is a highly respected manufacturer of the highest quality handmade area rugs, anything from Hand knotted, to Hand loomed, to Hand Tufted, and Flat Woven Dhurries.
